MST Financial continued the 2026 Director & Executive Forum series with our fourth event of the year, and our fourth consecutive year hosting in Perth, in partnership with Woodside Energy.

The evening featured Daniel Walton, Director of the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation and Snowy Hydro Limited, and Chair of The McKell Institute. Dan delivered a candid and insightful address on the political drivers shaping Australia's economy and resources sector, with particular relevance to Western Australia. Drawing on his extensive experience across government, industry and the union movement, Dan shared sharp perspectives on the current political landscape, the practical realities of the energy transition, and the evolving industrial relations environment in the Pilbara.

He was joined for a fireside chat hosted by Saul Kavonic, Senior Energy Analyst at MST Financial. Together, they explored how political dynamics, government policy and industry super fund influence are intersecting with the outlook for WA's resources sector.
